O LUA (Linguagem Universal Acessível) é uma ferramenta desenvolvida pelo Instituto de Letras da Universidade de Brasília (UnB), com apoio do ACNUR (UNHCR), para facilitar a comunicação entre pacientes indígenas não falantes de português e profissionais de saúde em hospitais brasileiros. Com o LUA, é possível: • Solicitar apoio de um intérprete voluntário por chamada de voz ou vídeo durante o atendimento de saúde • Consultar disponibilidade e agendar sessões com intérpretes qualificados • Acompanhar o histórico de atendimentos realizados • Receber notificações sobre solicitações, agendamentos e chamadas recebidas • Consultar informações e tirar dúvidas sobre saúde, incluindo orientações sobre COVID-19 • Encontrar unidades de saúde e serviços de apoio O aplicativo é destinado tanto a pacientes que precisam de interpretação quanto a intérpretes voluntários. Todo cadastro de intérprete passa por um processo de aprovação da comissão gestora do aplicativo, incluindo entrevista e análise de formação e experiência, garantindo atendimento qualificado e ético. O projeto nasce do compromisso da Universidade de Brasília e do ACNUR em reduzir barreiras linguísticas e ampliar o acesso a serviços essenciais de saúde para povos indígenas no Brasil.
