Laprdus je sintetizator govora (TTS - Text-to-Speech) retro-tipa, za hrvatski i srpski jezik. Koristi tehnologiju konkatenativne sinteze, spajajući unaprijed snimljene fonemske jedinice za proizvodnju govora. Iako ne doseže kvalitetu modernih neuronskih TTS sustava, Laprdus nudi visoke performanse i minimalnu potrošnju memorije. Razvijen je kako bi korisnicima čitača ekrana pružio jednostavan i brz pristup računalima i mobilnim uređajima na njihovom materinjem jeziku, besplatno. Laprdus je dobar izbor za one koji uživaju u nostalgičnom zvuku retro sintetizatora govora iz 1980-ih i 1990-ih godina, ili za one kojima su performanse i minimalna potrošnja resursa važniji od kvalitete glasa. Ukratko: moderni sintetizatori nude kvalitetu po cijenu resursa; Laprdus nudi performanse po cijenu kvalitete. What's new

Laprdus now works on the lock screen after a restart, before the PIN, pattern, or password is entered. TalkBack users can unlock the device with their selected voice and settings. Laprdus must be the preferred text-to-speech engine for this feature to work. Existing settings and dictionaries carry over automatically. If voices fail to load, Android can try another speech engine. When reading character by character, spaces are now properly announced as “razmak”.
