Full description
Azimut is a planning tool designed for professional and advanced amateur astronomers and astrophotographers. Unlike other apps, which list every phenomenon on the astronomical calendar (including those of little observational interest) and generate an overwhelming amount of information, Azimut applies an expert-reviewed selection process and shows only the events truly worth observing or photographing: those that are rare or of special astronomical significance. This removes the need to check multiple sources or spend session time on low-value events, so you can plan your observing and photography sessions as efficiently as possible. To get started, simply select your language and country: the app automatically shows the astronomical events relevant to your location. Each event comes with a photograph, a detailed description and specific observing recommendations (naked eye, telescope or the additional equipment advised in each case). It also indicates whether the event is recommended based on its visibility conditions. FEATURES: • Events automatically filtered by the user's country, showing only phenomena visible from their location. • Chronological event list for short- and medium-term planning. • Calendar view with all scheduled events. • Customizable notifications: days in advance and time of each alert. • Detailed information on each event type, with practical observing and photography tips. EVENTS INCLUDED: • Solar eclipses. • Lunar eclipses. • Planetary oppositions (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto). • Greatest elongations of Mercury and Venus (only the most relevant). • Meteor showers (only the most relevant). • Supermoons. • Micromoons. • Transits of Mercury. • Lunar occultations of planets. • Planetary conjunctions (only triple, naked-eye double without the Moon, and double fitting within the FOV of a camera or telescope). • Jovian shadows (shadows of the Galilean moons on Jupiter; only double or triple). • Sporadic events (novae, notable comets, etc.). DISCLAIMER: Each event includes a description and general observing and photography tips. Given the complexity of some phenomena, in certain cases you may need specialized guides or software to obtain a precise estimate for your exact position. Azimut does not currently include, nor plans to add in the short term: • Satellite passes. • ISS / Tiangong transits. • Low-ZHR meteor showers. • Single Jovian shadows. • Greatest elongations of Mercury and Venus with insufficient altitude above the horizon. • Aurora forecasts. • Equinoxes and solstices. Earth's perihelion and aphelion. CREDITS: The images for each event category are in the public domain or used with permission, always crediting their original authors: • Steve Fung: conjunctions, supermoons and micromoons. • Lorenzo Cordero: umbral lunar eclipse, total solar eclipse and partial solar eclipse. • Tom Ruen: penumbral lunar eclipse. • Jozef Papp: partial lunar eclipse. • Daniel Pick: annular solar eclipse. • Jeff Dai / IAU OAE: meteor showers. • KnightFallV: lunar occultations. • Kevin Gill: oppositions of Mars. • Eric Brandt: transits of Mercury.
