Decibel Meter turns your phone into a sound level meter you can actually understand. It shows the noise level around you, tells you which scale that number is on, and lets you correct it. Most decibel meter apps show a number and hope you don't ask questions. This one answers them. This dB meter is honest about that. Open Settings to see exactly which audio source the app obtained on your device, and whether your handset allowed it to disable automatic gain control. Your calibration offset is stamped with your phone model, so a setting restored from a different handset is flagged rather than silently applied. Calibrate once against a reference sound level meter before relying on the absolute number. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS This is a phone app using a phone microphone. It is not a certified sound level meter. Don't use it where a Type 1 or Type 2 instrument is required, or as the basis for a legal, medical or workplace decision.
