Biomes

Biomes is the official field data collection app for HCL Foundation's biodiversity monitoring program. It helps staff, researchers, and partner organizations record accurate, location-tagged ecological survey data directly from the field. KEY FEATURES • Survey Forms — Capture structured field data across multiple survey types: vegetation surveys, point counts, bird nest surveys, line transects, insect hotel checks, and habitat tree assessments. • GPS-Tagged Observations — Every survey entry is geotagged using your device's location, so every observation can be accurately mapped to its site. • Photo Capture — Attach photographs of species, habitats, and site conditions directly to your survey records using your device camera. • Site & Role Management — Access is organized by assigned site and role (Staff, Researcher, Student, and partner organization users), so each user sees the surveys relevant to their work. • Centralized Reporting — Field data submitted through the app feeds into HCL Foundation's reporting dashboards, helping track biodiversity trends across monitored sites over time. • Secure Sign-In — Account verification via OTP, with optional biometric login for quick, secure access on your device. WHO IT'S FOR Biomes is built for field staff, ecological researchers, and partner organization members participating in HCL Foundation's biodiversity conservation and monitoring initiatives. Access is provided by HCL Foundation or your partner organization as part of an onboarding process. DATA & PRIVACY Location access (including background location) is used only while a survey is actively being recorded, to ensure observations are mapped to the correct site. Photos and survey data are securely stored and used solely for research, reporting, and conservation purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect and how it's used.
