Hanad LMS

HANAD is a free mobile learning app that helps entrepreneurs build practical business and life skills — even where the internet is slow, expensive or unavailable. The name "Hanad" means skilled, talented and accomplished in Somali. The app was created to put a complete entrepreneurship and digital-literacy course in the hands of learners across Somalia and Somaliland, and it is designed from the ground up for everyday Android phones and real-world network conditions. LEARN OFFLINE, ANYWHERE Download a course once while you have a connection, then study anywhere. Lessons, quizzes and your progress all work fully offline. When your phone reconnects, everything you completed is synced automatically — nothing is lost, and you never have to start a lesson over. BITE-SIZED, PRACTICAL LESSONS Courses are broken into short modules you can finish in a few minutes: financial literacy, budgeting and record-keeping, business planning, pricing, marketing and customer service, numeracy and digital literacy. Each course shows the instructor, duration, level, language, learning outcomes and module breakdown before you enrol. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS Your dashboard is organised into In Progress, Completed and Saved for Later, with clear completion bars. Quizzes give instant feedback, and completed courses unlock a verifiable certificate you can download and share. BUILT FOR EVERY LEARNER Accessibility is built in, not bolted on: audio-assisted navigation, large readable text, adjustable font sizes and high-contrast colours. A short visual onboarding tutorial and an introductory digital literacy module walk first-time smartphone users through the basics. DESIGNED FOR LOW DATA AND LOW-END PHONES Low-Data Mode keeps non-essential downloads off by default. Video lessons stream or download at the quality that suits your connection. Small storage footprint, low memory use. SIMPLE SIGN-IN Register with your phone number and a one-time code — no passwords to create or forget. Email and Google sign-in are optional alternatives. LEARN TOGETHER Join moderated peer discussions, connect with assigned mentors and facilitators, and take part in live sessions when scheduled. All community spaces are moderated, with privacy safeguards for women learners who prefer to take part discreetly. HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT Report a problem from inside the app. Every request creates a ticket you can track until it is resolved. YOUR DATA, PROTECTED HANAD collects only what is needed to deliver your courses and record progress. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, consent is requested during onboarding, and you can request deletion at any time. HANAD is delivered by Iskills Info Technologies for ADRA Somalia and the Ministry of Education under the EU-funded e-WINS project. Free to use, no advertising, no in-app purchases.
