Gridiron Atelier

Gridiron Atelier is a light, offline scouting journal for defensive coaches analysing American football offence tendencies by hand. Record observations while reviewing film or watching a match, then group them by opponent, game situation, formation and play family. All data stays on the device, with no network requests, remote data or external services. Create and manage opponent profiles with local observation counts and last analysis dates. Add entries with the details coaches commonly track, including period, down, distance, field zone, ball position, personnel group, formation, strength, pre-snap motion, play family, direction or gap, result in yards and a short note. When a play is unclear, mark the result as uncertain instead of forcing a classification. You can also attach an optional camera snapshot of a drawn formation diagram. The app remains fully usable without camera access or images. Review observations in reverse chronological order, filter by opponent, period, down, field zone, personnel, formation and play family, and sort by time or result. Open any observation to see saved parameters, notes and an attached snapshot when available, then edit, duplicate, reclassify or delete it with confirmation. Use the tendency matrix to compare local entries for a selected opponent. Rows show game situations, columns show play families or directions, and each cell displays counts and sample share. Slice the table by down, distance, field zone, formation, personnel group and pre-snap motion. When there are enough records, the app highlights the three strongest tendencies; when the sample is small, it shows how many more observations are recommended. Customise the local terminology lists for formations, motions, personnel groups, play families and directions. Add, rename, reorder and hide values, while preserving old observations that already use them. Settings include default period, carrying context from the previous observation, minimum sample size for insights, deletion confirmation, haptic feedback, optional local reminders, privacy policy, app rating and the option to replay onboarding. Gridiron Atelier uses a fixed light interface designed for quick sideline and film-room review, with bottom navigation for Home, Journal, Matrix and Settings. Local loading, empty, filter, read-error and retry states help keep the workflow clear.
