Full description
Sit is a timer with a circle on it. That is the entire product. You pick a number of minutes, a bell rings, you sit, another bell rings, you get on with your day. There is no account, no subscription, no streak, no leaderboard, and no serene voice inviting you to notice the weight of your body in the chair. It's free, it works offline, and nothing you do in it ever leaves your phone. THE "MY MIND WANDERED" BUTTON Most meditation apps pretend distraction doesn't happen. Sit gives it a button. Catch yourself planning dinner mid-session? Tap it. You get a kind word — one of a large rotating pool, none of which are disappointed in you — and the timer carries on. At the end, Sit tells you how many times you came back, because noticing you drifted and returning is the actual exercise. That moment is the entire rep. WHAT'S IN IT • Presets at 2, 5, 10 and 20 minutes, or slide to any length up to an hour • An interval bell to nudge you back — at a fixed gap, or Random so you can't start anticipating it • A preview bell, so the volume never startles you • Tap the circle to begin, pause and resume — that's the whole gesture vocabulary • A two-tap End that freezes the clock while it waits, so you're not charged for the seconds spent deciding • A breathing circle to rest your eyes on (it goes still if your device asks for reduced motion) • Minutes this month — a running total that never resets to zero in anger and doesn't care about consecutive days • Optional reminders: daily, every three days, or weekly, at a time you choose • Dark and light themes • Runs off the clock, not the screen — lock your phone or take a call and the count stays honest NO STREAKS, ON PURPOSE A streak turns a nice thing into an obligation with a scoreboard, and then missing a Tuesday feels like a moral failure and you delete the app. Sit keeps a gentle monthly total instead. Skip a week; the app will not mention it. BUILT FOR WANDERING MINDS Sit was built by and for people whose attention has a mind of its own — the ADHD-friendly decisions are everywhere. Nothing blinks, nothing badges you, distraction is a button rather than a failure state, and the shortest preset is two minutes because sometimes that's the honest number. You don't need a diagnosis to use it, and it isn't a treatment for one. It's a timer and a bell — not therapy, not medical advice, and no substitute for either. YOUR DATA GOES NOWHERE There is no server, no account, no analytics and no third-party anything. Your session minutes and preferences are stored on your own device and go no further. Uninstalling takes them with it. Two minutes counts. A distracted two minutes counts. Sit down, press the circle, and see.

What's new

• Daily reminders now arrive on time, with sound, every day — not just the first. • Notifications show the Sit icon again. • The back button works: home from info pages, and it tucks the app away mid-sit. • Guided sessions ask for a second tap on End, like the timer, and show the time you actually sat. • Bigger tap targets, room for landscape and small phones, better screen-reader support. • Lots of small fixes to bells, pausing and the end of a sit.
