GeoStride is a step counter, pedometer and virtual walking challenge that moves you along a real route on a real map, so you can walk around the world one ordinary day at a time. HOW IT WORKS Pick any start and destination in the world. GeoStride plots a genuine walking route along real roads and paths. Your daily steps from the pedometer move your marker along it — the commute, the dog walk, the trip to the shops all count automatically. No workouts to start, nothing to log. A VIRTUAL WALK ACROSS THE WORLD Every milestone names the real town or city your walk has reached. The first ones come quickly; crossing a country takes real commitment. It is the motivation of a long-distance walking challenge, built from ordinary days. WALK. HATCH. REPEAT. Walking earns eggs — at distance marks, for step-goal streaks and for finishing a journey. Hit your daily step goal to incubate them, hatch a creature, and walk with it as it grows. A walking game that rewards consistency, not intensity. NO GPS, EVER GeoStride never asks for your location — the location permission is removed from the app entirely. Distance comes from your step count, so a treadmill walk counts exactly the same as one outdoors. STEP COUNTER THAT WORKS ON ANY ANDROID On Android 14 and later, steps come from Health Connect. On older phones GeoStride uses your phone's built-in step sensor — one permission, nothing extra to install. SEE YOUR PROGRESS Average steps a day, total distance walked, weekly charts, a 90-day activity heatmap, streaks and every journey you have finished. STEP CHALLENGE WITH FRIENDS Create or join a group and race your friends on a shared step leaderboard. Optional — a group sees only your chosen name, avatar and step counts. QUESTIONS, ANSWERED What is a virtual walk? You walk in real life; the app moves you along a real-world route using your steps, so a daily stroll becomes a journey between real places. Is GeoStride a step counter? Yes. It counts your steps from your phone's step sensor or Health Connect and turns them into distance along your route. Does it use GPS or my location? No. The location permission is removed from the app. Is it free? Yes. One virtual journey and one friends group are free, with no time limit. GEOSTRIDE PREMIUM Multiple journeys at once, unlimited friends groups, and no ads. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in Google Play. PRIVACY Your health data moves you along your journey and nothing else. It is never used for advertising and never sold.
