Gender Id

There's a chance you got here because you might be feeling confused or uncomfortable about your gender identity. Society has convinced us there are only two options for gender identity: gender "male" and "female", based on biological sex. But in reality there is more fluidity. Sexual characteristics a person is born with, may not match a person's gender identity. Sex and gender are distinct concepts. While sex refers to the anatomical, morphological and physiological aspects defined by biological features (genitalia, sex chromosomes, hormones) of the human species, the concept of gender refers to social, cultural and historical meanings associated with the sexes. Gender identity is a term that refers to how we feel about ourselves, the way we choose to express through how we dress, how we make-up, how we present and behave. It can be affected by a variety of social structures, including ethnicity, work, religion or irreligion and family. Gender identity can change over time. Just because you identify a path at some point in your life, doesn't mean your identity won't evolve (gender fluidity).
