Full description
For the books you've been meaning to read. Turn a lunch break, a quiet evening, or a few spare minutes into time with a book. Redline Reader puts words in motion around a fixed red focal letter, with an adjustable pace from 100 to 1,000 words per minute (WPM). Your place is saved, ready for the next session. Find your next reading gear with rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP): follow the text one word at a time, in one place. Start at a comfortable speed, then turn up the pace as you feel ready. Pause, rewind, or slow down whenever a passage needs more time. A quiet way to read: • Read without sound or headphones • Open an included classic, even without a signal • Return to your saved place between short sessions • Look up an unfamiliar word in offline Field Notes and replay its sentence at a slower pace Compare the pace: a 3,000-word chapter takes about 19 minutes at normal audiobook speed, about 12 minutes at the average adult fiction-reading pace, or 6 minutes at a steady 500 WPM. These calculations use ACX's 155 WPM narration estimate and published research averaging 260 WPM for adult English fiction reading. They are pace illustrations, not measured Redline Reader results. The app's punctuation-aware pauses, longer words, visual breaks, and rereading add time. Your comfortable speed and understanding will vary with the text. Read classic literature and your own DRM-free EPUBs in a focused, offline reading room, with saved progress and a distraction-free presentation. Included library: • Eight public-domain classics, including World English Bible Classic • A curated shelf built for focused reading • Catalogue availability may vary by country or territory Tools for deeper reading: • Field Notes: select a word for an offline vocabulary aid, definition, original sentence, and replay controls • Import DRM-free EPUBs from your device • Paste text for immediate reading • Choose public-domain sources to explore Pay once. Keep reading. Redline Reader has no ads, subscriptions, in-app purchases, accounts, analytics, or cloud tracking. Your reading stays on your device.
