Full description

Every move takes a peg off the board. That is the strange part: you win by having almost nothing left, so the board grows emptier and harder at the same time. A peg jumps a neighbour into the space beyond, and the jumped peg is gone. Late boards are mostly holes, and the few pegs remaining have to be able to reach each other. Boards are built by running the game backwards from a single peg, so a clean finish always exists. Land your last peg in the marked hole for three stars, and that finish is guaranteed reachable rather than merely hoped for. Dead ends are part of the game from level two on. When you reach one, it rewinds far enough that a win is genuinely still available.
