Full description
The doors open at your station, and the door area is packed. Office-goers, students, someone with a huge bag, and one very grumpy uncle with his arms folded. Your stop. Will you make it out? Local Train Jam is a puzzle game set in the door area of a Mumbai local. Every commuter faces a way. Tap one and they walk straight: further into the coach, or out through the door when it is their station. Clear a path, and get You off before the train moves on. HOW IT PLAYS Up and down lead further into the coach and are always open. Left and right are the doors, and a commuter only gets off at their own station, on the platform side. A badge over each one counts the stations to go. Bump into someone, or try to send them off too early, and it costs a heart. THE GRUMPY UNCLE Every coach has its characters. The grumpy uncle tells off anyone who walks past him on the cells beside him. Send him on first, or find a way round. A JOURNEY, NOT JUST A STOP Longer levels run over several stations. Who gets off at the first stop? Who is staying on? Read the badges, plan ahead, and the coach clears station by station. EVERY LINE IN THE CITY Levels run for ever, twenty to a line: the Western line out of Churchgate, the Western suburbs, the Central line, the Harbour line, the fast locals that skip stations, and the monsoon, when fogged windows hide the far rows and you call out to see who is there. Ride every line, then go round again, a little harder each time. Hard and super hard levels are marked for when you want a real knot to untie. THE DAILY COMMUTE A new coach every day, the same for everyone, gentle on Monday and super hard on Sunday. Keep your streak going. PEAK HOUR Sixty seconds, coach after coach. Every commuter you send is a point, getting off adds time, and bumps take it away. THE COMMUTER BOOK Meet everyone you share the train with, from the regular commuter to the uncle, with a few true things about life on the Mumbai local. HELP WHEN YOU WANT IT Hints, undo and restart. Earn coins by clearing levels, opening chests and finishing daily missions, and spend them on a hint or one more heart. MADE TO BE KIND Nobody falls, nobody is pushed, nobody rides the footboard. Doors open only at a stop, and a mistake is a tut and a step back. Portrait, one hand. The train's own sounds: the door chime, the horn, the wheels over the rail joints. Sound, music and vibration settings, and reduced motion honoured. No account, no sign-up, and the game plays without a network. FAIR WITH ADS Local Train Jam is free. After your first levels, there is now and then a short ad when you tap Next level after getting off. Never while you are playing a coach, and never in Peak hour. Every commuter, coach and station in Local Train Jam is drawn in code, by a small studio in India. Station names are real; the trains, stopping patterns and platform sides in the game are made up. Not affiliated with Indian Railways or any railway operator.
