Full description
You remember when you bought it, and then somehow the date goes past. This is a notebook for the dates on the food and the emergency stock in your home. WHO IT IS FOR - You want to keep the dates on the food in your fridge in one place - You want to avoid letting stored food and emergency supplies run past their dates - You want to waste less food, but detailed data entry never lasts - You want to remember how long a home-made dish or a deli item will keep - You want everything the household bought in one list - Registering, with a photo - The label or the package becomes the picture for that item, so you can tell what it is without typing a name - The date takes a few taps. Choose whether it is a use-by or a best-before - Home-made dishes and leftovers with no barcode can be registered just the same - Use-by and best-before, shown apart - A use-by date and a best-before date are shown with different colours and different words - What is shown is a guide. It is not a judgement about whether something is still good - When a date comes close, you are told quietly (the time can be changed) - Mark it when it is finished - Marking an item as eaten or thrown away clears it from the list and frees a slot - If everything is used up within a month, there is a small quiet celebration EXAMPLE 1. Photograph the label or the package and register the photo 2. Choose use-by or best-before, and enter the date 3. When the date comes close, you are told 4. Once you have eaten or thrown the item away, mark it and clear it from the list IN DAILY LIFE - Open the list before shopping to see what to use first - When something turns up at the back of the fridge, check how old it is - Review the emergency supplies, starting with those whose dates are nearest - Use it as a guide for how many days a batch of cooked food will keep - Made to be safe to use - Photos and data stay inside this device only (nothing is sent anywhere) - No ads - Ten items are free (finishing an item frees a slot) For the "how long has this been in here" at the back of the fridge. FAQ Q. What is the difference between use-by and best-before? A. Use-by is a guide to safety, best-before is a guide to flavour. The app shows them in different colours and different words. Q. Does the display tell me whether something is safe to eat? A. No. It is only a guide, and it never judges whether something can be eaten. Q. Can I register food without a barcode? A. Yes. Home-made dishes, deli items and leftovers can be registered with a photo and a date. Q. How many items are free? A. Ten. Marking an item as eaten or thrown away frees a slot. Q. Where are my photos and data stored? A. Only inside this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
