Full description
See time run out. Set a time before you start, and your phone makes the end impossible to miss. TaskHop is a timer you can see from across the room. Not digits: an amount. The screen fills with colour and drains as the minutes go, so a glance tells you how much is left without reading anything. Type what you are doing, and what comes next, and press Start. That is the whole app. THE GLASS The running screen is the time. It starts full and drains from the top like a glass, with the minutes riding on the waterline. Teal while there is plenty, warming as it runs low. The screen stays on while it runs, and turns with the phone. IT FOLLOWS YOU Lock the phone and the countdown carries on in a Lock Screen countdown notification, with what you are doing and the time left. On Android 16 it also asks to show as a Live Update in the status bar. Put the phone on a charger on its side with TaskHop open, and the countdown fills the screen: a clock for the wall, made of your time. FIVE MINUTES At five minutes left, a soft sound and one line: "Find a stopping point." Enough to surface, not enough to break your concentration. No button to press. AT ZERO A real alarm. It plays on the alarm volume, so it rings even with the phone on silent or vibrate, and it is marked as an alarm, so Do Not Disturb lets it through whenever alarms are allowed, as they are by default. It shows full screen over the Lock Screen and keeps ringing until you stop it, for up to 15 minutes. No snooze. If you wrote down what comes next, the alarm says so, and back in the app one tap starts a timer for it. FOR HYPERFOCUS Made for people who hyperfocus, with ADHD or without. When you go deep, time stops passing until it has all gone. Knowing the clock does not help; seeing it does. TaskHop puts the shrinking disc of a classroom timer on the phone you already have, and adds the one thing that plastic clock never had: an alarm you cannot sleep through. PRIVATE No account. No server. No analytics. TaskHop keeps your last three durations, the day you started the free trial, your settings, whether you have unlocked, and the timer that is running, with what you typed for it, on the phone. Android's own backup can keep a copy in your Google account, so a new phone remembers them. The purchase is handled by Google Play. That is all. PAY ONCE Try everything free for 14 days, no payment and no purchase to start it: the trial begins when you tap "Start 14-day free trial". After that, one payment (in the US; Google Play shows your local price) keeps TaskHop, forever: the timer, the alarm that rings through silent, the Lock Screen countdown and the five-minute warning. No subscription, no ads. TaskHop is made by a two-person studio and has no investors to please. It does one thing, and it will still do that thing in five years.
