Full description
Fogwick is an atmospheric logic game centered around operating a lighthouse, where players control a beam of light, monitor sea routes, and help ships navigate through the waters at night. Each challenge features a different layout with obstacles, movement directions, and elements that need to be used correctly. The main gameplay takes place on a grid-based field containing a lighthouse, ships, coastal elements, obstacles, and other objects. The objective is to direct the lighthouse beam correctly and illuminate the required ships to complete the level. Each action can change the direction of the light, allowing players to examine the positions of objects before making their next move. In Fogwick, light interacts with different elements on the field. Some objects can change the direction of the beam, while others may block its path or introduce additional conditions for completing the challenge. Levels gradually introduce different combinations of these mechanics, so both the arrangement of elements and the required sequence of actions vary from one task to another. A separate coastline screen displays available stages as a continuous route. Each point represents an individual level. Players can view completed tasks, earned stars, and upcoming available stages. This structure makes it easy to follow current progress and return to previously completed levels. Before starting a task, information about the current coastal location and level conditions is displayed. During gameplay, players can see the number of ships that need to be guided, the status of available elements, and the game field itself. This keeps essential information visible throughout the challenge. The results system in Fogwick provides a summary after completing a night watch. Players can review their result and the number of stars earned. Completed levels can be played again to try a different sequence of actions before continuing to the next stage along the coast. The game also includes night watches connected to specific coastal locations. The information screen displays the location name, time, visibility, cloud cover, and wind speed. A brief description of the current conditions and the number of ships that need to be guided are also provided. These tasks use a separate map of the sea area containing ships, the lighthouse, obstacles, and possible routes. Players can review the positions of important objects beforehand and use this information while completing the challenge. Fogwick maintains a clear gameplay structure: select a stage, review the conditions, control the lighthouse beam, complete the task, and check the result. The interface focuses on the game field and the information required for the current level. The visual design is based around a coastal environment at night. The dark field, lighthouse beam, ships, and coastal elements make active objects easy to distinguish. Level layouts remain compact, making it straightforward to follow the positions of ships, obstacles, and the direction of the light. Fogwick combines sequential levels, lighthouse controls, spatial challenges, a star system, a coastline map, and separate night watches. Players can complete available stages, return to previous tasks, track their progress, and gradually unlock new routes along the coast.
