Full description

A bilingual English / South African Sign Language (SASL) video dictionary. Browse for the English word and see the corresponding sign in SASL. Search for words by handshape and body location. Signs were collected from Deaf communities across South Africa. The rich variations can be viewed in the dictionary. View standardised signs as approved by The Pan South African Language Board for SASL. Each sign has several sentences that illustrate how it’s used and modified. For example, the sign BIG in "A big house" and "A huge house" is similar, but there are obvious differences that add meaning. What's new

This update brings two new courses and a refreshed look. You can now learn Basic South African Sign Language (SASL) from the ground up with our new beginner course, fully in video format. We've also added a K53 Learner's Licence course taught entirely in SASL, so you can prepare for your learner's licence in the language you're learning. We've also given the app a more modern, cleaner design to make navigation easier and the overall experience smoother.
