Full description
Is there a fire ban where you're camping tonight? Fireban shows the live Total Fire Ban status, the official fire danger rating and the published campfire rules for campsites, national parks and state forests across Australia, and says plainly when something can't be confirmed. DISCLAIMER: Fireban is an independent app. It is NOT a government app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing any government entity or fire authority. Always confirm current conditions with the official sources listed below, and follow signage and directions from rangers and fire authorities. THE LIVE FIRE MAP - Official fire danger ratings (AFDRS) for every fire district, checked every hour - Total Fire Bans from each state and territory's official feed, checked every 15 to 60 minutes (every 3 hours in the NT). A ban in force always overrides everything else - If a feed can't be confirmed, we show "not confirmed", never a guessed "no ban" - Active bushfire incidents with severity and source links - 4-day fire danger forecasts PARKS, FORESTS & CAMPSITES - National parks and conservation reserves across Australia, plus state forests and forest reserves in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia - 11,500+ campsites, from national park campgrounds to caravan parks and free camps - Tap a park or campsite to see the land manager's published campfire rule in their own words, with its source and the date we read it - When no rule is on file we say so, and point you to the signage and the ranger TRIP PLANNER - Plan a route and see fire danger for every district you'll cross - Campsite suggestions near your destination, with the fire ban status for your travel date BUILT FOR THE BUSH - Your last-loaded map and ratings stay on your phone for when reception drops, with a banner showing how old they are OFFICIAL SOURCES Fire danger ratings come from the Bureau of Meteorology's Australian Fire Danger Rating System feed (NSW ratings from the NSW Rural Fire Service). Total Fire Bans come from each state and territory fire authority. Check Fireban, then confirm with the official sources above and the sign at your campground.
