Moth Sheet Offline

Moth Sheet is an offline-first trap-night sheet for amateur lepidopterists who run one named garden trap night at a time. Cold start opens the fullscreen active-night surface—not a generic wildlife journal—so you can set up at dusk, log conditions, and at dawn tick species and counts straight on the sheet. TRAP-NIGHT SURFACE Every night opens as a dusk-to-dawn card with site label and date, trap-type chips (Skinner, Robinson, actinic bucket, DIY sheet), bulb chips (MV, actinic, LED, blend), and a single night-temperature field. A night conditions strip adds cloud cover, rain, wind band, and moon phase as simple typed chips—no sensors required—stored with the sheet for later comparison. DAWN-CHECK SPECIES TALLY The live tally rail lists species rows with large +/− count steppers, quick first-of-year (FOY) star toggles, and optional sex or abundance notes. Add from a seeded UK/EU garden moth starter pack of common macros and micros, or type a custom name. Favourite frequent species to pin them at the top of the picker. Choose compact or comfortable tally density in preferences. ARCHIVE, FOY BOARD, AND PRESETS Finish a night to lock the sheet into your named trap-night archive. Browse past nights by date with total individuals, species richness, and FOY badges—all offline. The season FOY board rolls up first-of-year marks for the active year so you see which species already scored and which are still open. Save reusable trap kit presets (for example “Back garden Skinner / 125W MV”) and apply them in one tap when opening a new night. COMPARE AND EXPORT Compare any two archived nights side-by-side for richness and shared-species overlap to spot garden trends. Generate a plain-text dawn summary (date, gear, temperature, species×count, FOY list) to the system share sheet for notebooks or county recorders—no cloud account required. PREFERENCES Set default trap kit, temperature unit (°C/°F), FOY year-start month, and tally density. Data stays on your device via local storage.
