Open your apps with a purpose. Leave the endless short-video loop behind. FeedBrake helps you interrupt Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts without blocking the entire app. When protection is enabled and a supported short-video player is detected, FeedBrake navigates back out of it. CHOOSE WHAT TO BLOCK Turn protection on for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or both. FeedBrake is designed to leave ordinary feeds, messages, profiles, search and long-form videos available. It does not remove tabs or modify Instagram or YouTube. TAKE AN INTENTIONAL BREAK Pause protection for 5, 10 or 15 minutes, or until you resume it. Use a two-minute allowance when you deliberately want to watch a short-video feed. SEE YOUR PROGRESS View local block and allowance counts. Any time-saved figure is an estimate based on your chosen minutes per block, not a measurement of actual screen time. CHECK THAT PROTECTION IS WORKING Guided tests help you check supported feeds on your device. Protection health shows permission and service status, with optional notifications when protection stops. Android may delay those notifications. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No FeedBrake account, ads or analytics SDK. Detection runs on your device. FeedBrake does not read message text, passwords or typed input, capture your screen, or upload your browsing history. Preferences and minimal protection statistics stay on your phone. ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE FeedBrake uses Android's AccessibilityService API with your consent. It inspects visible interface structure and resource identifiers in Instagram and YouTube to recognize supported Reels and Shorts players, then performs the Back action according to the protection options you enable. This access is essential to selective blocking. You can pause protection or turn off the service in Android settings at any time. COMPATIBILITY Requires Android 8.0 or later and the supported target apps. Detection depends on the interface those apps expose and may need updates when their layouts change. Run a guided test after updates. Blocking is not guaranteed on every device, app version or entry path.
