Full description
ONOLab makes oscillations, waves and optics easier to understand through 36 interactive labs. Adjust the parameters using the sliders and immediately observe how animations, graphs, formulas and physical quantities change. Each lab helps connect the mathematical model with a visual representation of the phenomenon. Explore: • harmonic oscillations, damping and resonance • pendulums and oscillators • travelling waves, standing waves and wave packets • sound, beats and the Doppler effect • electromagnetic fields and waves • propagation, reflection and refraction of light • mirrors, thin lenses and multiple-lens systems • interference and coherence • Huygens’ principle and Fermat’s principle • diffraction through slits and circular apertures • resolving power of the human eye and optical instruments • diffraction gratings and spectra • polarization of light Main features: • 33 interactive simulations • controls and results updated in real time • 92 links to the formulas used • graphs and animations that respond to the selected parameters • favourite labs and formulas • Italian and English interface • layouts optimized for phones and tablets • fully functional offline • no account, advertising or tracking ONOLab is designed for students, teachers and anyone interested in exploring physics through visual and interactive experiments.

What's new

- New Sound Level lab: explore the relationship between pressure, intensity and decibels, and discover how multiple sound sources combine. - New Sonic Boom lab: visualise the Mach cone and observe when the shock wave reaches an observer on the ground. - Improvements to simulations, formulas and English translations.
