Store listing

Full description
FauxVkTest checks the graphics driver (Vulkan driver) on your phone or handheld. A driver lists the features it supports, and that list is sometimes wrong. The app draws real test scenes, tells you which features pass, fail, or crash, and measures how fast the driver draws. Emulator players and developers use the results to pick a driver and to know what to turn off. • Check the driver (validate): 66 checks, about one minute. Each uses the driver in one way and compares the result with the correct one. • Speed test (benchmark): five scenes, three rounds, about two minutes. Shows how long the driver takes to draw one frame (median frame time), with the graphics chip speed (GPU clock) it ran at. • Which Windows games could this driver run: an estimate for DirectX 9 to DirectX 12, from what the driver offers. Each level reads likely, maybe, or no. It is an estimate, not a promise that a game is playable. • Demo scenes (sample sweep): runs the Khronos Vulkan samples and lists the ones the driver refuses or crashes on. Samples that need the large demo scenes are left out and marked as such. • Custom drivers: on Qualcomm Adreno devices, load a Mesa Turnip driver, and on Arm Mali devices a Mesa PanVK driver, from a file you pick. No root needed. • Compare: put any two drivers on your device side by side: scenes faster and slower, feature checks gained and lost, graphics system version (Vulkan API version), and optional features (extensions). • Share: save any report as a file (JSON), or upload it to the public results site at fauxvkdb.canonspike.com. Free, no ads, no account. Nothing is uploaded unless you press Upload. An optional one-time Supporter purchase, at three levels, stops the support reminder and adds one, two, or three badges. It unlocks no features. Vulkan is a registered trademark of the Khronos Group Inc. This app is built on the Khronos Vulkan-Samples project and is not endorsed by Khronos.

What's new

New: Samsung phones with an Xclipse graphics chip (Exynos) can now add a custom graphics driver from a ZIP file and test it, as Adreno and Mali phones already can. We have no Xclipse phone, so this part is not yet tested on one.
