Family Filter TV

Family Filter TV plugs into Stremio as an external video player. Start anything in Stremio, hand playback to Family Filter TV, and it plays the stream normally — but mutes its own audio for the exact seconds a subtitle line is profane. Nothing is cut, blurred, or skipped: the picture keeps playing, the sound just drops out and comes back. HOW IT WORKS Stremio hands Family Filter TV the stream through Android's "external player" mechanism. Family Filter TV reads subtitles from the video's own text track when it has one, or fetches them from Stremio's free OpenSubtitles add-on by matching the file hash or the title's IMDb id. Whichever line is showing on screen is checked against your chosen filter strength, and the audio output mutes for the duration of any line that matches. FILTER PROFILES Choose Off, Mild, Family, or Strict from the app before you start watching. Family is the default. Profiles set at the device level — set it once, then just use Stremio as normal. WORKS ON TV AND PHONE Family Filter TV runs as a proper Android TV app (D-pad navigation, leanback launcher, big-screen layout) and as a normal touch app on Android phones — the same filtering engine either way. DIAGNOSTICS A built-in Diagnostics screen (Settings → Diagnostics) checks device compatibility — audio mute timing, and, once you explicitly grant Android's notification-listener permission, what other apps are currently playing (title, position, playback state) so you can see whether a given box or app reports position accurately enough for tight mute timing. This is a measurement tool: it reports on screen and never uploads or stores anything remotely. WHAT THIS VERSION DOES NOT DO No accounts, no sign-in required, no analytics, no advertising, no in-app purchases in this version. Family Filter TV does not host, index, or redistribute any video content — all streams and subtitles come from Stremio and its own add-ons.
