Full description
Wordstac hands you exactly the right words for the grid - no more, no fewer - shuffled with no hint about which row each one belongs in. Your job is to stack them correctly. Get it right, and every row reads as a real word left to right, while every column simultaneously reads as a real word top to bottom. Get the order wrong, and the columns collapse into nonsense. This is the classic double-crossword challenge: the same handful of words can be arranged in dozens of different sequences, but only one sequence makes every column resolve into something real at the same time. There's no partial credit for a grid that looks close - either every column works, or the order isn't right yet. Every single puzzle in Wordstac is checked by brute force before it's included. Given the exact word set, every possible row order is tested, and exactly one of them produces a fully valid square. No ties, no alternate solution hiding in a different arrangement. WHAT'S INSIDE - Handcrafted puzzles across three difficulty tiers: Easy, Medium, and Hard - Grid size grows with difficulty: 4x4 for Easy, 5x5 for Medium, a full 6x6 for Hard - Real, everyday English vocabulary throughout - A simple tap-to-select, tap-to-place interface - watch the grid fill in as you test each order - Freely reversible - pull any word back out of its row and try again - Progress and stars saved automatically so you can return to any puzzle later - No timers, no penalties - just the words and your reasoning WHO IT'S FOR If you've ever enjoyed a classic double crossword or a word square from the back of a puzzle magazine, Wordstac brings that exact challenge to mobile with a clean, modern interface. It rewards systematic thinking over speed - working out which word has to anchor an early row before the rest can fall into place - so it's just as satisfying for a compact 4x4 Easy puzzle as it is for wrestling with a full 6x6 Hard grid. Every row. Every column. One true order.
