Ezina: Garden Planner & Care

Ezina is a garden planning and plant care app for the contiguous United States. It's for anyone growing anything, from a first windowsill pothos to a full garden bed, and its advice starts from where you live. Every recommendation cites its source, and where the research is thin, we say so. MAP THE GROUND YOU ACTUALLY HAVE Give Dig, Ezina's yard planner, your address. It pulls your parcel and the footprint of your house, then casts shade from the house, trees, and fences for every daylight hour of the year. Trees are mapped from a laser survey and aerial photos, and if one is gone or the wrong size, you fix it and Dig casts the shade again. Dig also maps your soil, where frost settles first, and where rain runs and gathers. It still works if all you have is a balcony, a patio, or a single window. PLANT THE BED BEFORE YOU DIG IT Tap to place a crop or drag to sow rows, and the spacing adjusts as you go. Ezina warns you when one plant will shade another and shows how your choices help local wildlife. One tap puts the finished bed on your calendar as dated plantings. Sowing and transplant dates come from your own frost dates, all year. A house-sitter can open your care calendar from a link, with no account or app, and see what needs doing. PLANTS THAT BELONG WHERE YOU PUT THEM Ezina checks any plant for your county against three records: where USDA has found it growing wild, the national register of invasive species, and your state's regulated plant list. A plant can be invasive and still legal to sell where you live, so you see each answer on its own. Plant pages show what pollinates, eats, or hosts each plant, and whether it is toxic to cats or dogs. The same checker is on our website with no account needed, alongside regulated plant lists for 44 states, each cited to the law that names it. WATERING THAT MATCHES YOUR WEATHER Watering reminders for pots and beds follow your local rain and temperature. Outdoor beds get gallons and a rough time on the hose, and indoor groups adjust to the room temperature and humidity you set. When frost or a heat wave is forecast, Ezina warns you which outdoor plants it threatens, judged against your hardiness zone. Point your camera at a window and the light meter suggests houseplants that suit the spot. TREATMENT YOU CAN CHECK Photograph a sick leaf or a bug, then follow one of more than 300 treatment plans. Each step cites its source, and a treatment repeats on your calendar until it's done. Nothing in a plan is sponsored. IDENTIFICATION, HONESTLY Ezina identifies plants, diseases, and insects from a photo. Send up to four photos of a plant and two independent identification services check them. Each match is labeled High, Medium, or Low with its percentage, and says whether the plant is native where you live. You won't see a headline accuracy figure, because that number describes a lab test rather than the plant on your windowsill. A LOG OF YOUR GARDEN Watering, treatments, harvests, and losses land on one timeline, and your life list collects every plant and creature you record. Post progress, follow other growers, and comment. REMINDERS ON YOUR TERMS Choose the hour reminders arrive. Miss a day and nothing scolds you, and there are no streaks to keep. NO ADS, AND YOUR DATA IS NOT FOR SALE Ezina does not sell your data, does not run ads, and takes no outside investment. No future version will run ads either. CLOSED ALPHA Ezina is in closed alpha while we finish it for a public launch. Nothing is sold in the app during the alpha, and you can download everything you've added at any time.
