Sense2Quit

Sense2Quit is a research app from the ESC Lab at the University at Buffalo. It uses a Wear OS smartwatch to show you when you smoke. Pair a watch, and the app reads its motion sensors while a model on your phone monitors hand movements associated with smoking. No camera. No microphone. The detection itself runs on your phone, not on a server. WHAT IT DOES • A live view shows your watch's motion, whether the app currently reads it as smoking, and how confident it is. • One switch turns background detection on and off. • On the watch, the app tells you whether a session is recording. Tap Details for live sensor readings. • A trends page keeps your detected and logged smoking events, so you can look back over time. • Reminders, tips, and a few small games, if you want them. HOW IT WORKS Your watch streams motion data to your phone. The phone reads it in short windows and flags the ones that look like smoking. You start detection on the phone; it runs only while the phone is switched on. WHO IT IS FOR Participants in the ESC Lab's smoking cessation study, and anyone curious about their own smoking patterns. Sense2Quit is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.
