Hear Out Games

Hear Out Games are stories and games you play with your voice, designed for blind and partially sighted players first, and for everyone else too. Put on your headphones, listen, and answer out loud. The characters ask you what to do, and the story goes where you take it. When it's your turn, say your answer, type it, or tap an option. Every word appears on screen as it's spoken, with the word being read highlighted, so you can read along or just listen. You can answer while the voice is still talking. Made to be easy to play - Big, clear text in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface made for readers with low vision, or in your device's own font. Three text sizes, on top of your device's font size. - Dark, light and high-contrast themes, or follow your device's own settings. - Voice speed from 0.75 to 2 times, music volume, and more time to answer if you need it. - A short sound tells you when the game starts listening. - Help pages you can listen to as well as read. - Play with your phone locked and in your pocket. The headphones' button skips the voice, starts listening, or carries on. - Plays on phones and tablets. On a tablet, play upright or sideways, in a window of any size, with the story beside the controls when there's room. With a keyboard, Space skips the voice, starts listening, or carries on. Eight games The Kingdom of Frootopia Join Cosmo and friends on a galaxy adventure, and save the Kingdom of Frootopia. Story 1 is free. The Stories 2 to 5 pack has the rest of the adventure. Noodle Rush You're broke and starving. Talk your way to a free bowl of ramen. There are 10 endings to find. Signal Decoders Help Alex and Robin decode a mysterious alien signal in a blacked-out London. All five chapters are free. Pirate Quest Gather your crew, roll the dice and outwit rival captains on the hunt for the English fortune. The whole quest is free. Leaning Tower of Pizza Tell lies to grow Pinocchio's nose, and save Venice from the evil pizza robot. Bananas are berries: true or false? Battle and challenge modes, both free. Alien Customs Convince a strict alien customs officer to let you into Jupiter with your suspicious luggage. Levels 1 to 5 are free. The 10 More Levels pack adds levels 6 to 15. The Werewolf Listen to the villagers and find out which of them is the werewolf, before it strikes again. Stories 1 to 5 are free. The 45 Mysteries pack adds stories 6 to 50. Nuclear War Play as France, the USA, the UK, China or Russia through five rounds of nuclear war. Shield your cities, sanction your rivals and choose when to strike. The whole war is free. Packs Three games have a pack with more stories or levels, all in the Shop. Each pack is a one-time purchase, with no subscription. A pack downloads once, then plays offline like the rest. Good to know - No ads. - The games are inside the app, so they play offline. Buying and downloading a pack needs a connection. - Your device's speech recognition (usually Google's) turns what you say into words. Many devices do this on the device itself. Others use an online speech service, which needs a connection. Typing and tapping always work. - Your place in each game is saved at every question, so you can pick up where you left off. - The app shares usage data with us under a random ID, to show us which games and screens people use.
