GEM turns the television in a hotel room or rental into the property’s own digital guest guide. Instead of printed folders or information sheets, guests can find everything the property wants them to know directly on the TV: Wi-Fi details, check-in and check-out times, house rules, contact information, emergency numbers, photos, videos, nearby recommendations and more. All content is created and managed by the property through GEM Studio. The television receives its guide from the property’s local server, so updates made at reception can appear on the room screens without anyone having to visit each room. WHAT GUESTS CAN SEE • Property information — Wi-Fi name and password, arrival and departure times, house rules, contact details and emergency numbers • Photo gallery — rooms, facilities, grounds, pool, restaurant and other property areas • Videos — the property’s own videos, provided from its server or YouTube • Nearby — recommended beaches, tavernas, museums, attractions, walks and other places, with descriptions and directions • Weather — an optional forecast for the property’s location • Room controls — when compatible EPI Systems room automation is installed, guests can control supported lighting directly from the TV BUILT FOR THE TV REMOTE GEM is designed specifically for television use. Navigation works with the directional pad and OK button, with large text, clear spacing and visible focus indicators designed to be readable from across the room. LANGUAGES English and Greek are built in, and properties can add further languages through GEM Studio. DEMO MODE When GEM is installed from Google Play without a property server configured, it opens with a complete bundled sample guide marked: “DEMO · SAMPLE CONTENT” This is intentional shipped behaviour, not an unfinished or incomplete build. This allows users and store reviewers to explore the app without requiring access to GEM Studio, a property server, an account or any special hardware. All sample screens are available in English and Greek. Sample room controls also respond on screen for demonstration purposes, but do not control real room hardware. The DEMO label remains visible while bundled sample content is being used. GEM is designed to be installed by a property alongside GEM Studio. Without a property server on the network the app remains in sample mode, as there is no guide for it to show. FOR PROPERTIES GEM Studio runs on a small server on the property’s own network. Staff can create and update the guest guide from a browser at reception, including information, photographs, videos, recommendations and other content. Each television is assigned to a room so the appropriate guide and room-specific features can be shown on the correct screen. Changes such as a new photograph, updated breakfast time or revised guest information can be published without entering individual rooms. PRIVACY GEM contains no advertising, in-app purchases, guest accounts or sign-in, and displays no third-party content other than the videos a property chooses to show. The app does not collect personal information about guests. When connected to a property server, the television sends an identifier that allows the property’s system to associate the television with the correct room.
