WHY EDGELINGO IS DIFFERENT Most language apps send your voice to a server. EdgeLingo doesn't need one: the AI model, the speech recognition and the voice all run on your device, so by default your conversations never leave your phone. It stays off unless you turn it on, it's included in the free trial, and if the cloud can't be reached the on-device model takes over. Recordings stay on your phone unless you also turn on the pronunciation check (full version; English, Japanese and Korean), which sends your shadowing takes to Microsoft Azure to be scored.
