GiftWise

GiftWise remembers the presents. Who has a birthday soon, what you thought of buying them in March, what you spent this year, and what you already gave so you do not give it twice. UPCOMING, AT A GLANCE The first screen shows the next sixty days: “Anna's Birthday — in a week, turning 36”, the gift status beside it — no idea yet, idea saved, bought, wrapped or given — and what you have spent this year against your budget. The one that needs attention is the one at the top. PEOPLE, IN YOUR OWN WORDS Add the people you buy for with an emoji instead of a photo, their relationship, their birthday (the year is optional, and without it the app simply shows no age), their interests, clothing and shoe sizes, and a note for the things worth remembering — allergic to lilies, already has a kettle. Nothing is read from your contacts or your calendar. The app asks for no such permission, and it never could. OCCASIONS THAT COME BACK A birthday becomes an occasion by itself. Add anniversaries, Christmas, New Year, Valentine's Day, Mother's and Father's Day, a graduation or anything of your own, repeating every year or happening once. February 29th is handled honestly: in an ordinary year the app marks it on the 28th. IDEAS THAT SURVIVE UNTIL DECEMBER Heard something in passing? Save it in a few seconds with a price, a priority and a note. Ideas wait as long as they need to, can be tied to an occasion or left free, and are searchable by gift or by person. When you think of something you have already given that person, the app says so — with the date. MONEY, COUNTED HONESTLY An optional annual budget and a budget per occasion. Marking an idea “bought” records the date, and only purchases from this calendar year count towards this year's total. The currency is a label on your numbers: the app converts nothing, connects to no bank and shows no prices of its own. REMINDERS AND HISTORY Optional reminders at the lead times you choose — fourteen days, three days, whatever suits — and only for occasions where no gift is bought yet. Every present you gave stays in the history with its price, the date and the reaction you noted, and can be exported as a CSV file. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no analytics, no network requests. Links you save are plain text and the app never opens them. Everything stays on your device.
