Duel Breaker - Brick Breaker

BREAK THE WALL. WIN THE DUEL. Duel Breaker is a brick-breaker that changes genre halfway through. The field is cut in two, mirrored. Your bricks at the bottom, your opponent's at the top, a wall in between. You are not breaking bricks for score: you break them to open your own gate in that wall and go raze the keep on the other side. This is attack and defence, not solitaire. And once both sides have cleared their zone, there is nothing left to break. The game slows down. The two paddles face each other. One ball, speeding up in steps until one of you cracks. That is the FINAL DUEL, and that is where matches are decided. A BUILD BEFORE EVERY DUEL Three active powers and one passive, chosen before the match on the Arsenal screen. The choice commits you: there is no going back once the round has started. Powers are paid for in energy, and energy is earned by breaking your own bricks. Attacking costs, defending pays, and knowing when to spend beats knowing how to aim. 8 active powers and 5 passives to unlock. AN ADVENTURE OF 66 LEVELS Six worlds, and each one changes more than the scenery: it changes a rule. One takes your powers away and hands them back one at a time. Another punishes your own mistakes three times harder than the opponent's attacks. A third lets nothing be decided quickly. 66 levels, and 6 multi-phase bosses that change behaviour as they take damage. Every level ends with 1 to 3 stars, depending on how long you took and what was left of your keep. SOMETHING TO WEAR Bosses give paddles, stars give walls, coins buy the rest. Six paddles to take from the bosses, each with its own material and its own spark on the rebound. Three keep walls to earn with stars: dressed stone, riveted steel, faceted crystal. Coins are earned by finishing levels and taking stars, and they buy six more paddles in the shop. Replaying a level you have already cleared earns nothing: only new ground pays. None of it changes a rule of the game. It changes what you are. RANKED MATCHES Trophies, leagues, experience levels. A win streak to hold on to. The opponent is an ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, with three difficulty levels. Online duels against real players do not exist yet: they are planned for a future update, and will be announced here when they are actually available. WHAT DUEL BREAKER DOES NOT DO No in-app purchases. No account to create. No connection required: everything works offline. Nothing costs money, and nothing is unlocked with money. Powers, paddles, walls and coins are earned by playing, and only that way. Your progress is saved on your phone. TECHNICAL One-handed, portrait. Available in English and French, chosen on first launch and changed at any time in the settings. Graphics, sound and music are generated entirely by the game: no image files, no audio files shipped.
