Full description
One Dish connects home and independent chefs with hungry customers through an easy, location-first pickup experience. Because orders are picked up directly from the chef’s spot, real-time location sharing is the app’s core feature — letting chefs publish exact pickup points and customers navigate there confidently. Built around privacy, clarity, and speed, the system removes friction from every handoff so food arrives fresher and pickups feel seamless. Key features and how they work - Opt-in location publishing: When a chef lists a dish, they set or share a precise pickup location (kitchen, stall, cafe corner). Location sharing is always explicit and revocable. - Live maps & directions: Customers who place an order can view the chef’s published pickup point on an interactive map with turn-by-turn directions and step-by-step arrival guidance. - Real-time updates & ETAs: The app calculates and displays an ETA based on current conditions. Chefs can update readiness windows; customers receive notifications when an order is almost ready or when the customer is nearby. - Pickup-only flow: Orders are prepared for on-site collection — the app coordinates preparation time, pickup windows, and arrival estimates so customers pick up exactly when the dish is ready. - Privacy & permissions: Location sharing is strictly controlled. Chefs and customers choose if and when to share live location data, with temporary links and clear expiration times. Personal addresses aren’t exposed beyond what the chef chooses to publish. - Safety & verification: Profile badges, verified pickup locations, in-app messaging, and photo confirmations on handoff help build trust between chefs and customers. - Proximity discovery: Customers can browse nearby offerings based on distance and pickup time, promoting local cooks and reducing wait and travel time. Benefits - Faster handoffs and fresher food: Precise coordination means customers arrive when dishes are hot and ready. - Reduced confusion and wait time: Clear maps and ETAs cut down missed pickups and unnecessary waiting. - Empowered local commerce: Chefs reach nearby customers more reliably and showcase daily specials tied to exact pickup spots. - Confidence and control: Both parties share only what they want, maintaining privacy and safety. Typical flow 1) Chef lists a dish and sets the pickup point and available pickup window. 2) Customer orders and opts into location view for directions. 3) The app shows the pickup pin, ETA, and navigation; chef confirms when the order is ready. 4) Customer arrives, checks in via the app if desired, collects the meal, and both confirm completion. Use cases - Neighborhood pop-up kitchens and meal pre-orders - Farmers market or street-food stalls with scheduled pickup times - Community cooks offering weekly specials for local pickup One Dish’s location-first pickup model makes ordering simple, secure, and delightfully local — because great food deserves a smooth handoff.
