Gillur Vuho answers the question every ice angler asks before stepping off the shore: will this ice hold me, my sled or my truck — and if not today 📆, when? You log 📝 what you actually measured in a few auger holes: how much clear ice, how much white or cloudy ice, any slush or snow on top. The app 📱 counts white ice at half strength and slush at none, then checks each load, from one person on foot to a pickup, against both a bending-strength calculation and the published minimum thickness for that kind of load. It always tells you which of the two decided the answer. Drag ✋ a load across your lake sketch and every drilled hole's zone turns GO, WAIT or NO-GO for that load; ice nobody has measured stays NO-GO. Add daily air temperatures and forecast days, and Gillur Vuho grows the ice forward day by day, turning a "not yet" into a date. Late in the season it runs the other way, tracking how warm days and rain rot the ice's strength and naming the last safe day.
