Verhalen vertellen is een belangrijk onderdeel van het overdragen van tradities, cultuur en elkaar beter leren kennen. ‘Wat een gemier!’ is een prentenboek met een bijbehorend verdiepingspakket voor kinderen (groep 4 t/m 6) waarin het omgaan met culturele verschillen en hier over in gesprek gaan centraal staat. Hierdoor brengen wij de belevingswerelden van kinderen samen en geven we aandacht aan het waarderen en accepteren van verschillen, en het omgaan met vooroordelen. Het uiteindelijke doel is het vergroten van het bewustzijn over de multiculturele samenleving, diversiteit en burgerschap en het openstaan voor andere culturen.
