Full description
The DFX1 Companion App is the phone-side interface for the DF-X1 Forensic Console, a purpose-built device that screens removable media - USB drives, external hard drives and SD cards - before that media is connected to a computer. This app is an accessory. It does nothing on its own: it requires a DF-X1 Forensic Console, and it pairs with that console over a local, encrypted Bluetooth Low Energy link. WHAT IT DOES - Live scan status. See what the console is doing, and how long it has been working, from across the room. - Verdict at a glance. CLEARED, THREAT, INCONCLUSIVE or REFUSED, with the findings that produced it. - Password entry for encrypted media. When the console meets a BitLocker, LUKS2, VeraCrypt or FileVault2 volume, the app becomes its keypad. This is what makes a headless console usable in the field. - Chain-of-custody records. Every scan the console has performed, with its timestamp, the console serial, the operator identifier, and the cryptographic hashes taken before and after examination. - One-page PDF report. Export any scan through the standard Android share sheet, straight into a case file or an email. BUILT FOR PRACTITIONERS DFX1 Forensics LLC was founded by a police officer with 23 years in law enforcement and 13 years in digital forensics. The DF-X1 exists because unknown media arrives every day - seized, mailed, handed over, found - and someone has to decide whether it is safe to plug in. PRIVACY This app does not request the internet permission. Android therefore prevents it from making any network connection at all. It collects no personal data, contains no analytics, advertising or tracking libraries, and transmits nothing to DFX1 Forensics or anyone else. Everything it receives from a console stays on your phone unless you choose to export it. A password typed to unlock encrypted media is sent only to the connected console, for that purpose, and is not stored or logged. Privacy policy: https://dfx1forensics.com/app-privacy.html REQUIREMENTS - A DF-X1 Forensic Console - Android 12 or later recommended (Bluetooth scan and connect permissions) - Bluetooth enabled DFX1 Forensics LLC, Warrenton, Virginia [email protected]

What's new

- Try demo: see a simulated DF-X1 drive and phone scan without a device (all demo data is marked DEMO). - Encrypted drives: a wrong password now asks again properly; "Checking password" shows while the DF-X1 works. - Phone scans: new CONTINUE step; results show MATCH / NO MATCH / NOT CHECKED with notes. - Reports show when the signatures were last updated. - The chain-of-custody log no longer clears when you rotate the phone.
