Full description

DeepSkyCentral is the astronomy companion built for people who take the night sky seriously — from first-time stargazers to dedicated astrophotographers chasing faint nebulae under dark skies. Plan your sessions Build imaging sessions with your exact equipment, track targets by visibility, log your captures, and carry your session history with you. The Session Planner syncs your rigs, targets, and notes so nothing gets forgotten under dark skies. Find your targets Search thousands of deep-sky objects — galaxies, nebulae, clusters, and more. SkyView gives you a live sky atlas with field-of-view overlays for your exact telescope and camera combination. The FOV Calculator takes the guesswork out of framing. Get to dark skies The Dark Sky Finder maps light pollution across your region and lets you discover, save, and share dark sky locations with the DSC community. Check real-time weather forecasts, cloud cover, and atmospheric conditions before you load up the car. Stay connected to the sky Real-time aurora forecasts, solar activity monitoring, live sunspot data, and worldwide eclipse tracking with interactive path maps. The Astro Calendar keeps every upcoming event — meteor showers, oppositions, moon phases, and eclipses — in one place. Set up your rig right Build your equipment profile in the Rig Builder, nail polar alignment with the built-in polar scope tool, and organise your capture files with the File Renamer and Folder Creator. Everything a serious imager needs, in one app. Built for dark environments Night Vision mode turns the entire interface deep red to protect your dark adaptation at the eyepiece. Works across every screen, every feature, every icon. Learn as you go The Learning Centre covers astronomy terminology, astrophotography techniques, and equipment guides — whether you're identifying your first constellation or processing your first narrowband image.
