Full description
Send files and folders straight from your phone to another device - no cloud, no accounts, no size limits. DashBeam is a free and open-source peer-to-peer file transfer app. Your files travel directly between devices over an encrypted connection instead of being uploaded to someone else's servers. Nothing is stored in the middle, and nothing is kept after the transfer ends. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Send any file or an entire folder - photos, videos, archives, backups. No file size cap. • Transfer between your phone and Windows, macOS, Linux, another Android device, or any browser. • Share to devices on your Wi-Fi, or to someone on the other side of the world. • Receive with a preview - see what's coming before you accept the download. • Resume interrupted transfers automatically instead of starting over. • Share the same file with as many people as you want, at the same time. NEARBY DEVICES Other DashBeam devices on the same Wi-Fi network appear automatically. Tap one and send - no codes to copy, no QR to scan. A short verification code confirms you're sending to the right device the first time. You control who can see you: Everyone, paired devices only, or nobody. PAIRED DEVICES Pair your phone with your computer once, and after that just tap Send. Paired devices show whether they're online, and file invites arrive as a notification even when DashBeam isn't open. HOW SHARING WORKS Every share creates a one-time code called a ticket. Send it through any chat app, or skip it entirely and send directly to a nearby or paired device. Whoever has the ticket can download the file - nobody else. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no sign-up, no email address. • No ads, no trackers, no analytics on your transfers. • Every transfer is end-to-end encrypted with QUIC and TLS 1.3. • Your files are never uploaded to a server. When a direct connection isn't possible, a relay helps your devices find each other, but it only ever sees encrypted data. • Every transfer is verified with BLAKE3 checksums, so what arrives is exactly what was sent. BUILT IN THE OPEN DashBeam is AGPL-3.0 licensed and developed publicly on GitHub. The networking is powered by iroh, a modern peer-to-peer stack. You can read every line, build it yourself, or run your own relay and discovery servers. AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, a command-line tool, and a browser version. Start a transfer on one, finish it on another. Available in over 20 languages.
