Tightline helps new anglers in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania work out where to go, what might be biting, what the rules are and whether it's a good day to head out. TODAY'S CONDITIONS • Tides, currents, wind, waves, water temperature, pressure and weather in one place • A simple fishing score with the reasons behind it, plus the best times today and a 7-day outlook • A Go / Caution / No-go safety check that looks at National Weather Service alerts (small craft advisories, rip currents, gales, thunderstorms), wind, waves and heat. It's stricter when you're on a boat. CAN I KEEP IT? • Pick your fish and enter its length to see the size limit, bag limit and season where you are • Regulations for NJ, NY and PA, including special trout waters and closures, written in plain language with links to the official rules • License info and invasive fish rules, including what to do if you catch a snakehead • Who to call if you hook or find a stranded sea turtle, seal or dolphin, with one-tap calling SPOTS, SHOPS AND GUIDES • A map and list of public fishing access, piers, boat ramps and reefs • Bait & tackle shops near you, with Call and Directions buttons • Local guides for popular places: where and how to fish, seasons, parking and hazards • "Bait in the water now" and which fish are likely nearby this month LEARN TO FISH • Fishing 101: short lessons from "never held a rod" to your first catch, with quizzes and a first-trip checklist • Guides for dozens of species, plus rig diagrams and knots • Fish-eating advice that links to each state's official advisories YOUR CATCH LOG • Log species, size, bait and photos. The conditions are saved with each catch • Your log stays on your phone. It works offline and doesn't need an account • Log trips where nothing bit, too. Blank days show you what to change next time • Fishdex, badges, streaks and personal bests. Released fish count just as much as kept ones FISH WITH FRIENDS (OPTIONAL) • Sign in with just your email (a one-time code, no password) • Share a catch with friends or the community. Others see a rough area about 2 km across, never your spot. You can let accepted friends see the exact spot, but only if you turn it on • Compare trips with friends, start a "Fish together" session and join friendly leaderboards (local boards are opt-in) • Report posts that break the rules PRIVACY No ads, no ad trackers and no usage analytics, and we don't sell your data. Crash reports with no personal info help us fix bugs. Location is only used while the app is open, and you can pick a place by hand instead. COVERAGE Regulations and spots cover New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Bait shop listings are most complete in New Jersey. Somewhere else?
