Full description
Dram is an alcohol dilution calculator for people who bottle. Work out the water for one glass or for a whole batch of spirits, and correct the hydrometer reading with the official OIML R22 alcoholometric tables — the ones customs and excise administrations work from. PRO — the distiller's bench Five tools at batch scale. Dilution of a whole batch down to bottling strength, with the final volume, what contraction costs you, and how many full bottles come out. Reduction in steps, which follows your pours one at a time and puts the predicted hydrometer reading next to the measured one at every step. Blending of up to five casks or sources, with the ABV and the volume that come out of the mix. The reverse recipe: start from the batch you want, and Dram says what to mix to get it. Liqueur, where syrup sweetens and dilutes in the same pour. Give the sugar you want, describe the syrup you have, and Dram returns the three pours. All of it in volume or in mass, for those who weigh rather than gauge. A PDF batch sheet for every lot with its ledger, ready to file. The obscuration of a sweetened spirit, determined from the dry residue. Pure alcohol counted in your own excise unit — litres of pure alcohol, LAL, hectolitres or proof gallons. Seven days free open the whole Pro tier. It then continues as a subscription you can cancel at any time from your Google Play account. Pro can also be bought once, for life, with no subscription at all. AMATEUR + — one-time purchase, no subscription What builds up over time. Your bottles, each with its strength, the dilution you keep for it, a photo and your tasting notes. Saved records, sharing, and CSV export of everything. TWO CORRECTIONS, FREE FOR EVERYONE Temperature. A batch reading 63.5 % ABV at 25 °C is really 61.78 %: close to two points, and the largest source of error in the craft. It cannot be done in your head, because it means inverting a fifty-four coefficient formula. Soda-lime and borosilicate hydrometers are both supported, graduated at 20 °C or at 60 °F. Contraction. Water and alcohol do not add up — the mixture shrinks. One thousand millilitres at 63.5 % brought down to 40 % needs 604.96 ml of water; the naive ratio asks for 587.5 and lands at 40.44 %. On a bottling run, that is the difference between a label that is right and a label that is not. Both are free, on every screen, and they will stay free. The workflow is what is sold here, never the accuracy of a figure. FREE — the glass How much water opens a cask strength dram, to a tenth of a millilitre, with a graduated syringe drawn on screen and the weight of water if you would rather use a scale. The other direction too: the water is already in, and Dram says where the glass landed. The dose goes out as plain text through whichever app you pick. WHO IT IS FOR Craft distillers proofing and gauging a batch before bottling. Blenders working several casks at once. Small distilleries that need a batch record they can file. And anyone opening a cask strength whisky or rum who wants the water right to the drop. The same engine serves both scales: an alcohol dilution calculator that holds at one millilitre and at one thousand litres. Your hydrometer — alcoholmeter, if that is the word where you are — is the only instrument you need. NO ADS, NO ACCOUNT, NO DATA COLLECTED Everything is computed on the device, offline. We collect no data. The CSV export never leaves the phone, and bottle photos stay in the application's private storage, never in the gallery — their metadata, GPS position included, is stripped when they are saved. Twelve languages. Light or dark theme. Millilitres, centilitres, or US units with degrees proof. Home distilling is regulated and, in several countries, prohibited. Dram calculates dilutions; it does not teach distilling. Check what applies where you are.
