KernBite: Meal Plan & Fitness

KernBite is a meal planner and a fitness challenge in one app. You swipe through 1,314 recipes, the app turns them into your weekly meal plan with a grocery list, scaled to your calorie and protein target, and in a group you keep going together. Ad-free, no tracking, servers in Germany. HOW THE MEAL PLANNER WORKS • Swipe: a recipe card with photo and nutrition facts; you choose Like, Dislike, Super like or Never again. • Plan: your favourites become the weekly meal plan, matched to your calorie and protein target and to how often you want to shop and cook. • Shop: the grocery list merges the plan, sorted by aisle, pantry staples deducted. FOR THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD • Family, couple or flat share: everyone swipes the same stack, each on their own. What everyone likes is a Foodmatch and goes into the plan. • Portions per person from their own daily needs, not simply times the head count. • Dislikes per person: replace, leave out or reduce an ingredient, the recipe stays. • Allergies, intolerances and diets for the whole household: vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free, nut-free, soy-free, egg-free, halal, kosher. THE FITNESS CHALLENGE One group, one period, one name. Scoring in six categories, the group picks which ones count: steps, calorie target, protein target, training, weight, well-being. • Daily check-in in one minute. • Weekly and overall scoring, per category and across the board. • Closed groups, join by invitation code only. • You decide per group which of your values the others see. • The personal check-in also works without a group. • Charts for weight, body fat and steps over time. WHAT IS INSIDE • 1,314 recipes from 12 cuisines: German, Italian, French, Spanish, tapas, Portuguese, Swedish, Russian, Turkish, Mexican, Thai and Chinese. Plus recipes for kids. • Nutrition per portion (kcal, protein, carbs, fat) and an estimated price per portion. • Meal prep notes on every recipe: how long it keeps in the fridge and whether it freezes well. • Notes in the weekly plan when a lot of red meat or free sugar adds up, referring to the DGE and WHO reference values. • Optional: an InBody printout as a photo or CSV file, plus steps and active calories from Health Connect (where Garmin Connect, for example, writes them). • Eight languages: German, English, Turkish, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic. • Accessible: screen reader support, large text, checked contrast. PRIVATE AND AD-FREE • No ads, no analytics or tracking services, no selling of data. • Servers in Germany (Nuremberg data centre), processing inside the EU. • Body and health data only with your explicit consent. • The photo or CSV of your InBody printout is read on your device and never uploaded. • You delete your account and data yourself in the app under Profile, or without the app at kernbite.de/konto-loeschen. • Free, no in-app purchases. A private project by a single person. GOOD TO KNOW KernBite is a meal planner for everyday cooking, not a barcode calorie counter: you pick the dishes, the app does the maths. Recipe photos are AI-generated illustrative images and may differ from the real dish; they are labelled as such inside the app. KernBite is not a medical device and does not replace medical or dietary advice.
