Full description
Every fishing app 📱 will help you find a fish. Wadebeke Hookus starts the moment you have already got one in your hands, and answers the question none of the others do: will it live after you let it go? Before you fish, it solves an air-exposure budget 💰 in seconds from the water temperature, the species group you are after and the depth they are coming from. Warm water collapses that budget 💰 fast ⚡ — a trout at seventeen degrees has under ten seconds, not the minute you were assuming — and past a species' limit the app 📱 stops giving you a number 🔢 at all and tells you plainly not to fish. Then, when you land one, a single large dial starts burning that budget 💰 down in real time ⏱️. It is not a stopwatch: the ring's colour is the fish's modelled survival, recomputed on every second and on every tap 👆, so hesitating costs you exactly what doing the wrong ❌ thing costs. Everything you do goes onto an action ledger, stamped with the second it happened and the survival points it cost, and at the end the app 📱 names the single most expensive thing you did. The verdict breaks the whole result down factor by factor — time ⏱️ out of the water, hook location, hook type ⌨️, net, how you held it, fight length, depth, temperature — each one showing its own contribution and its own reason ❓, so nothing is a black box. A fish that needs longer routes you to a hold-it-in-the-water clock instead of straight to a score 🔢. Over time ⏱️, the Habits screen in Wadebeke Hookus names the one habit costing you the most fish and gives you a target 🎯 for the next one. There is a planner 🗺️ too, pointed the other way. Give it the temperature at first light and the peak you expect, and it draws the day's budget 💰 hour by hour so you can see 👀 the window before you go — and the hours where the honest answer is to stay home. Beside it, the same engine ranks every single change you could make to your setup, from a barbless hook to two degrees colder water, by how many points of survival each would actually buy in your conditions. Tap 👆 one and it applies. Two more things in it have nothing to do with the seconds. The first is the water itself. Temperature is only a proxy — the real limit is how much oxygen the water can hold, and that depends on the altitude as well as the heat, because thin air pushes less oxygen into the same river. You get both curves, supply falling and demand rising, and the exact temperature where they cross; move the elevation slider and the crossing slides with it. The second is what happens after the fish is gone. Most catch-and-release deaths are not at the bank — they are hours later, so a recovery model runs the next seventy-two hours and names the hour the risk actually peaks, which is usually well after you have packed up, and the hour the fish comes back under the line. Anything you released in the last three days stays on a live list 📋 that keeps solving itself against the clock, so there is something true to say on a Tuesday about a fish you let go on Sunday. The camera 📷 is here, and it is the one feature Wadebeke Hookus argues you into using less: the grip-and-grin is the commonest reason ❓ a budget 💰 runs out, so the viewfinder carries the remaining seconds and closes itself when they are gone, with a skip that hands those seconds back. Three worked sample releases ship with the app 📱 so nothing starts empty, and the whole thing works with no signal at all. For anyone who releases what they catch and would like to stop guessing whether it mattered.
