Full description
Turn any Android tablet or phone into a full-screen kiosk. HAkiosk locks any website, web app, or Home Assistant dashboard to the whole screen — no browser bars, no clutter — so an old tablet on the wall becomes a clean, always-on display you control from anywhere. Perfect for smart-home dashboards, digital signage, café and restaurant menus, conference room panels, retail displays, waiting-room screens, and exhibition booths. If it has a URL, HAkiosk can run it in kiosk mode. Built fresh for the latest Android with Jetpack Compose and Material 3, HAkiosk is fast, modern, and runs great on everything from a brand-new tablet to an old wall device you want to put back to work (Android 8.1 and up). WHY HAKIOSK? • Full-screen, edge-to-edge kiosk display for any webpage or dashboard • Point it at any URL — a website, an internal web app, or Home Assistant • Made for wall-mounted tablets, info displays, and dedicated kiosk devices • Lightweight, reliable, and built to stay on 24/7 FLEET CONTROL — MANAGE EVERY DEVICE FROM ONE DASHBOARD Run one screen or a hundred. Pair your devices and manage them all from any browser at hakiosk.com/control: • Push the URL, zoom, dark mode, and screensaver to one device or your whole fleet • Group tablets by room, store, or location and update them all at once • Refresh, wake, or pull a live screenshot remotely — no walking to the wall • See which devices are online at a glance, and lock or unlock any of them • Android and iPad/iPhone devices live side by side in one workspace PHOTO SCREENSAVER — IMMICH ALBUM OR LOCAL FOLDER Show your photos on the idle screen instead of the clock: • An album from your Immich server, or any folder of pictures on the tablet — needs no server or account • Photos copy to the tablet, so the slideshow keeps running when the wifi drops or the server is down • Change picture every 5 seconds to every 5 minutes • Using Google Photos? Sync an album to a folder and point HAkiosk at it • Included, not a Pro feature SMART SCREENSAVER (MQTT) Connect to your MQTT broker and let the screen react to the room in real time: • Trigger a screensaver when a room is empty, then wake instantly on motion • Swap dashboards automatically — show lights when a lamp turns on, or a different view per room • Drive it from any Home Assistant automation, motion sensor, or occupancy topic WAKE WHEN SOMEONE WALKS UP (CAMERA — PRO) • The front camera watches for a face and brings the screen back as you approach • Analysed on device — nothing is recorded, stored, or uploaded • Off until turned on via Android's permission prompt, and active only when the screensaver is running KIOSK LOCKDOWN FOR PUBLIC DISPLAYS • PIN lock protects settings and navigation so visitors can't wander off • Screen Pinning lockdown keeps the device inside HAkiosk • Optional home-launcher mode relaunches your page on every exit • Auto-start on boot brings a wall tablet back after a reboot or power cut MODERN, POLISHED EXPERIENCE • True dark mode that darkens the web page itself, not just the app chrome • Dynamic color that adapts to your wallpaper on Android 12+ • Live zoom that applies instantly with no page reload • Simple corner long-press navigation that never fights Android gestures • Clean themed error page with one-tap reload when a page can't load PERFECT FOR • Home Assistant wall panels and smart-home dashboards • Digital signage and info screens for shops, offices, and lobbies • Café, bar, and restaurant menu boards • Conference rooms, waiting rooms, exhibitions, and trade-show booths • Anyone who wants a dedicated, always-on full-screen display HAkiosk is the simple way to run any website or dashboard in full-screen kiosk mode on Android. Mount a tablet, point it at a URL, and let your content take over the screen — then manage every device from one place with Fleet Control. Note: HAkiosk is a third-party app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Home Assistant project or Nabu Casa.

What's new

FIXED: turning on MQTT could crash the app. If you switched MQTT off to work around it, it is safe to turn back on. NEW: Home Assistant discovery — the tablet adds itself, with battery, presence, a screensaver switch and a refresh button. No YAML. NEW: photo screensaver, from an Immich album or a folder on the device. NEW: auto-reload, timed page changes and return-to-start (Pro). Offline: keeps the last page, or shows your own message or picture, and recovers on its own.
