Full description
Allied Invasion of Italy 1943-1945 is a turn based strategy game set on the Italian peninsula. From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011. The latest update on September 2026. You are in command of the Allied forces invading Italy, the so-called soft (word 'fortified' might be been more accurate) underbelly of Axis-held Europe. The scenario starts with the Operation Avalanche (Salerno Landings), expanding in various way like the Anzio Landing. While the Italians didn't have too much fight left in them at this stage of WW2, the German armed forces threw in their mountain and paratrooper formations in the play, making the Allied progress in the middle of the mountain ranges, filled with fortified defense lines, painstakingly slow and costly. The scenario includes the Allied Anzio Landing behind the main Allied front line, and one of the first goals for the player is to link up the two attacks. "The Italian campaign was a bloody stalemate, but it was also a necessary diversion to keep the Germans from concentrating their forces elsewhere." - Field Marshal Sir Alan Brooke, Chief of the Imperial General Staff FEATURES: + Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup. + Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the game's smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience. + Supports casual play: Easy to pick up, leave off, continue later. + Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of hourses), decide what is drawn on the map, and much more. + Good AI: Instead of just attacking on direct line towards the target, the AI opponent balances between strategic goals and smaller tasks like encircling nearby units. + Inexpensive: The classic strategy game campaign for a cup of coffee! "The Italian campaign was a nightmare. The mountains were treacherous, the weather was terrible, and the Allies were relentless." - Generalfeldmarschall Albert Kesselring, Commander-in-Chief South Conflict-Series by Joni Nuutinen has offered highly rated Android-only strategy board games since 2011, and even the first scenarios are still actively updated. The campaigns are based on the time-tested gaming mechanics TBS (turn-based strategy) enthusiasts are familiar with from both the classic PC war games and legendary tabletop board games. I want to thank the fans for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much higher rate than what any solo indie developer could dream of. If you have advice on how to improve this board game series please use email, this way we can have a constructive back and forth chat without the limits of the store's comment system. In addition, because I have huge number of projects on various stores, it’s just not sensible to spend handful of hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if there is a question somewhere -- just send me an email and I will get back to you. Thanks for understanding!
