Stake

Stake is a dark-mode 2D arcade game about a beaver cutting wood and avoiding falling branches. It uses a simple endless gameplay loop where the player moves left or right to keep the beaver safe and continue the run. In Stake, the player watches the tree and incoming branches, identifies the safe direction, and moves the beaver into position. Immediate visual feedback makes the current state clear without relying only on counters, timers, or text. The game is built around short gameplay cycles. The player prepares for the next branch, makes a movement, sees the field change, and either continues or receives a clear defeat result. Endless play focuses on achieving a higher score rather than completing traditional levels. Stake includes three compact collections with eight completed scenarios in total. The collections contain three, three, and two scenarios, with later collections unlocked through achievable rewards. Each scenario has defined starting data, rules, outcomes, rewards, and successful action sequences. Stake also includes a beaver skin shop with cosmetic options that can be collected through game progress. Achievements provide additional goals for players who want to track different accomplishments during their runs. Stake works fully offline and does not require servers, accounts, cloud services, APIs, or runtime AI. Local progress can store unlocked collections and scenarios, best results, selected settings, tutorial completion, and other data needed for the local experience. Stake includes a four-screen tutorial for new players. It explains the objective, movement, branch avoidance, and basic gameplay flow through visual information. Each screen uses a Next button, while completion is saved only from the final screen. Stake also provides Settings and Help options, including Replay Tutorial and Reset Progress. The endless run, scenarios, cosmetic collection, achievements, and local progression form a complete offline arcade experience.
