Full description
CivicShip is a free, independent civic-tech platform that empowers citizens to report, track, and follow up on public infrastructure complaints — from potholes and garbage dumping to water leaks and streetlights. Built for India, starting with Delhi, CivicShip helps route complaints directly to the appropriate government or municipal authority (MCD, DJB, PWD, and more) and keeps citizens informed. ⚠️ IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: CivicShip is an independent, community-driven platform developed by Digvijay S. Todiwal and supported by the VRITT Foundation. - CivicShip does NOT represent, act on behalf of, or have any official affiliation or authorization from any government entity, agency, or municipal body. - CivicShip does NOT facilitate government services or represent any government officials. - All complaints are routed to publicly available grievance reporting systems of municipal authorities to facilitate citizen participation. - For official, direct government reporting, please use the official portals of the respective authorities. 🔍 OFFICIAL SOURCES OF GOVERNMENT INFORMATION: To promote trust and transparency, CivicShip references and routes citizen complaints to the following official government and municipal channels. You can access these official portals directly at: - Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD): https://mcdonline.nic.in/ - Delhi Jal Board (DJB): https://delhijalboard.delhi.gov.in/ - Public Works Department (PWD) Delhi: https://pwd.delhi.gov.in/ - Delhi Police: https://delhipolice.gov.in/ - Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS): https://pgportal.gov.in/ - New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC): https://www.ndmc.gov.in/complaints.aspx - CM Jan Sunwai (PGMS) Delhi: https://cmjansunwai.delhi.gov.in/onlineComplaint The platform is free to use, open in spirit, and built to give citizens a voice they can actually act on. The Problem We're Solving India's urban civic infrastructure suffers from a persistent accountability gap. Citizens know what's broken. Authorities have the mandate to fix it. But the two rarely connect effectively. Existing government complaint portals are fragmented, difficult to use, rarely acknowledged, and almost never provide real-time tracking. CivicShip was created to change this. By making the complaint process as easy as taking a photo, adding a pin on a map, and hitting "Submit," we lower the barrier for participation to near zero. How It Works 1. Capture — A citizen photographs or records a video of the civic problem. 2. Locate — GPS or a map pin pinpoints the exact location of the issue. 3. Submit — CivicShip intelligently identifies the responsible authority based on category and location (e.g., DJB for water issues, MCD for waste, PWD for roads). 4. Track — Every complaint gets a unique tracking ID. Citizens can check status updates in real time. 5. Resolve — Volunteer reviewers and admin teams manage complaint queues and mark issues as in-progress or resolved. We believe that when citizens are empowered with the right tools, cities get better — not because of top-down mandates, but because of bottom-up pressure from engaged, informed, and connected communities.
