HOW CHESS SHIELD USES THE ACCESSIBILITY PERMISSION Chess Shield asks for the Accessibility permission for one reason: to notice when you open an app you chose to block, so it can show you a puzzle. That is the only thing it does with it. It does not read the content of your screen, it does not log what you type, and it does not send anything anywhere. You turn the shield on yourself, you pick the apps yourself, and you can turn it off in Settings at any time. PRIVACY No accounts. No analytics. No servers. Chess Shield has no backend at all: your rating, your streak, your puzzle history and the list of apps you blocked live on your phone and nowhere else.
