CG Responder is a professional operational tool built exclusively for HM Coastguard volunteer rescue officers in the United Kingdom. DISCLAIMER CG Responder is independently developed and is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by HM Coastguard or His Majesty's Coastguard. For official HM Coastguard information visit https://hmcoastguard.uk/ The app automates the detection and processing of official HM Coastguard Alert and Tasking (A&T) SMS messages. When an official attendance request is received from a configured HMCG number, the app processes the message, displays structured incident data, and enables standard HMCG response codes to be sent back via SMS. The app is actively used by volunteers during live search and rescue operations. HOW IT WORKS CG Responder monitors incoming SMS messages from configured HMCG Alert and Tasking numbers. When an official attendance request is detected, the app fires an alert, displays the full structured incident details, and allows the volunteer to respond using standard HMCG response codes. All SMS processing is performed locally on the device. OPERATIONAL FEATURES - Automated detection of HMCG Alert and Tasking attendance requests - Structured incident display: GIN number, team, incident type, location, and RV grid reference - One-tap response using standard HMCG response codes 1 to 5, 8, and 9 - Automated incident summary processing after attendance request - Automated stand down detection from HMCG messages - Intermediate message processing during active incidents - Multiple simultaneous incident handling - Full incident history log - Emergency contact notification on response - Availability status management - Test alert functionality to verify correct operation CONFIGURATION CG Responder must be configured with the official HMCG Alert and Tasking SMS numbers to function. It is not a general purpose SMS application and will not process messages from unconfigured numbers. SMS PERMISSIONS This app requires SMS permissions to receive, read, and respond to official HMCG Alert and Tasking messages. Incoming SMS data is processed locally on the device. Outgoing SMS responses are sent directly to HMCG via the user's mobile network using standard response codes. No SMS data is shared with or transmitted to any third-party servers or services. PRIVACY All data is processed and stored locally on the device. No data is collected, shared, or transmitted to third parties.
