A Recent Books List Tap the folder icon: your last ten books, with your place in each. Tap one to keep reading. Each book remembers its own size, because switching between a paperback and your grandmother's large-print edition shouldn't require negotiation. We agonized over adding two whole buttons. We lost. Reading Time Tap the page number at the bottom. You’ll see how long you’ve read this session, your total for this book, your average speed, and roughly how long until you’re free. We’ll also guess how long the whole book takes, borrowing your speed from other books until this one has given us enough to judge you by. Skipped ahead? We estimate the rest from your speed and mark it with a ~, because we’re honest even when it hurts. Pages you flick past don’t count, and neither do long naps on page 212. All of it stays on your device. Reset it whenever the truth gets uncomfortable. A Clock & Battery Indicator So you can confirm that it is, indeed, 3:00 AM and your device is almost dead.
