Revocal: Talk Backwards

Revocal is a talk backwards app built for the reverse singing challenge. Pick a line. The app reverses it, and that gibberish is what you have to learn to say. Drill it, slow it, loop it. Then film one take. Revocal flips the whole clip, picture and sound, and you come out word perfect. THE LOOP 1. Pick a line, or record your own. 2. The app flips it. That is your target. 3. Loop it, slow it, take it in chunks. Five to ten goes is normal. 4. One take, filmed. It plays back forwards, perfectly. WHAT IS IN IT - Reverse anything you say or sing, straight away - A written respelling of the reversed sounds, so you can read what you are trying to say - Word by word practice, so you drill the part that is beating you instead of the whole line - Slow playback and looping - Film and flip, picture and sound reversed together and in sync - Challenges to work through, or write your own - An archive of every take, so you can come back to one and try it again - Works in your language, not only English WHY IT IS HARD, AND WHY IT IS LEARNABLE People assume you spell the word in reverse. You do not. English spelling has almost nothing to do with it. You reverse the sounds, and reversed sounds are often ones English never makes. Start with three or four words. Listen twenty times before your first attempt. Slow it down until the sounds come apart, then bring the speed back up once the shape is right. Expect to fail five to ten times before one lands. That is the normal rate, not a sign you cannot do it. The reason the good clips are funny is that they need both halves: someone gurgling at a camera with total commitment, then the same clip backwards, word perfect. Revocal exports them together. REVOCAL PRO Everything above is free to use. Pro lifts the limit on recording length, exports without a watermark, and drops the Revocal card from the end of a video.
