CarolBlock helps you control the time spent on YouTube Shorts without blocking access to regular YouTube. In the Free version, YouTube Shorts are limited to 1 minute per day, while regular YouTube remains available without a time limit. With CarolBlock Full, you can: • set custom limits for YouTube and Shorts; • use different profiles for weekdays, weekends and holidays; • create scheduled time restrictions; • view usage statistics; • protect settings with a PIN. CarolBlock was created to provide simple, effective and privacy-friendly control, helping families manage screen time more effectively. No ads in the app. No subscription. No account required. Usage data remains stored locally on the device. USE OF ACCESSIBILITY To perform its core function, CarolBlock uses the Android AccessibilityService API. With the user's explicit permission, CarolBlock accesses information from the YouTube app interface to identify whether YouTube Shorts or regular videos are being used, detect playback status, measure usage time and apply the limits and schedules defined by the user. CarolBlock uses this information exclusively for the time-control and blocking features configured in the app. This information is processed locally on the device and is not sent to external servers. The Accessibility service is only enabled after the user has received this information and given explicit consent. CarolBlock controls time, not content.
